Lander, WY - The 131st Fremont Toyota Pioneer Days Rodeo, known as “The World’s Oldest Paid Rodeo,” will be held July 3rd and 4th in Lander, Wyoming. Starting at 6:30 p.m. each night for the Pre-Rodeo events, watch youth contestants compete in events such as mini-bull riding, junior barrels, and junior steer riding. The Grand Entry starts at 7:00 p.m. for the full night’s events.
As anticipated, on July 3 and 4, there will be the traditional western rodeo events including bull riding, saddle and ranch bronc riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing and breakaway, team and mixed team ropings. On both evenings, the ever-popular Indian Relay Races, sponsored by the Wind River Hotel and Casino, will feature men’s, women’s, and youth relay races. Teams from the Wind River Reservation, as well as other communities, race bareback at a high speed around the track exchanging horses after each lap. In contrast to the extreme bronc and bull riding events is the entertaining 3-person Businessmen’s Ribbon Roping event.

Rodeo Contestants: Don’t miss the ENTRY deadline for the 131st Pioneer Days Rodeo July 3rd and 4th in Lander

Lander, WY - New this year for Lander Pioneer Days Rodeo contestants: There will be increased payouts of $20,000 added to the 131st Fremont Toyota Pioneer Days Rodeo, known as “The World’s Oldest Paid Rodeo,” held July 3rd and 4th in Lander, Wyoming.
For rodeo roughstock and steer wrestling contestants, $1,000 of added money will be paid out each night. Also new is the Women’s Ranch Bronc Riding event! Contestants for this women’s roughstock event, along with Men’s Ranch Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Saddle and Bareback Bronc Riding, and Steer Wrestling, will be competing for the added money July 3 and July 4. The Men’s and Women’s Indian Relay Races also have $1000 added money each night, plus $500 added for the Youth Indian Relay Race.
All rodeo contestants need to enter Saturday, June 21 between 12-5 p.m. by calling in their entries to the Lander Old Timer’s Rodeo Association (LOTRA) phone numbers: 307-349-8070, 307-349-8108, and 307-349-1981. Lander, WY - The 131st Fremont Toyota Pioneer Days Rodeo, known as “The World’s Oldest Paid Rodeo,” will be held July 3rd and 4th in Lander, Wyoming. Online ticket sales are available now at Pioneer Days Ticket Sales using a smartphone to avoid the lines at the rodeo. Full-price tickets are sold online and at the rodeo ticket booths on July 3rd and 4th.
Gate prices are Adult-$20.00, Child (ages 6-12)-$10.00, and children 5 and under are free. Starting late-May, rodeo fans can purchase discounted pre-sale tickets for adults and kids at the Lander Chamber of Commerce and at the following local merchants: Lander Ace Hardware, Lander First Interstate Bank, Lander Parks & Rec Dept. Pre-sale ticket prices are Adult-$18.00, Child (ages 6-12)-$8.00, with children 5 and under free.

Pioneer Days Rodeo Royalty Announced!

Lander, WY - The Lander Pioneer Days Royalty contest was held on May 1 at the Lander Old Timers Rodeo Association (LOTRA) Indoor Arena. At the same time, the Lander Valley Cattlewomen held the Little Prince & Little Princess Contest. Congratulations to all the Pioneer Days Royalty members, who will represent the Lander Pioneer Days celebrations during the July 4th parade and at the 131st Pioneer Days Rodeo on July 3 and 4.

Pioneer Days Royalty Contest

Lander, WY - Lander, WY - The Lander Pioneer Days Royalty 2025 Contest for Queen, Jr. Queen, and Princess is scheduled for Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 6:00 pm at the Lander Old Timers Rodeo Association (LOTRA) Indoor Arena in Lander. At the same time, the Lander Valley Cattlewomen will sponsor the Little Prince & Princess Contest.

All Lander Pioneer Days Queen, Jr. Queen, and Princess contestants must be a resident of Fremont County, Wyoming. Queen contestants must be between the ages of 18 – 23 as of 1/1/25. Jr. Queen contestants must be between the ages of 13 – 17 as of 1/1/25. Princess contestants must be between the ages of 7 – 12 as of 1/1/25. ​
